Title:

Brief:

Eco Fun!

We are very excited to be starting our new project this month. We have designed an eco garden, which will be set within an urban surrounding. Our client wanted a garden that could be more self-sufficient and friendly to the environment. This will include free draining surfaces, natural materials, chickens, composters, water butts, a raised vegetable garden, a log store and much more...

Keep an eye on our latest project by visiting this page over the next few weeks to see how the garden will evolve...

Well, here we are on a cold January day. The ground is hard as rock and Team Isola are all wrapped up and ready to start their new project! The first mission is to relocate the chickens before they move into their new home!

Keep an eye out to see how 'Eco Fun' evolves over the next few weeks...

All the best,

James & Matt

The weather has really been on our side over the last two days and as you can see the majority of the clearance in the rear garden has taken place. That was probably due to the fact that we forgot to have lunch and before we knew it time to go home!

We have even managed to carve the landscape and you will probably be able to make out the general shape of the path and circular seating area where the ground has been lowered to allow for the sub base footings.

The chickens have been moved to their temporary home and apparently can't wait to move into their new luxury villa!

All the best,

James & Matt

A few days have passed and things are really starting to take shape. All the hardcore sub base has been applied and wackered to give us a firm solid base for all our paving and gravel surfaces. You will really start to have a feel for the shape of the garden layout before to long and over the next few days fingers crossed with the weather, we will begin to build the garden section by section.

Don't forget to check back from time to time and see our progress...

All the best,

James & Matt

It's been a week since our last entry and weather has certainly stopped play on more than one occasion! But we have battled on and we are making progress slowly but surely...

The reclaimed brick edge is 90% complete. This will be the edge to our gravel pathway flowing around the garden, winding your eye to the many quirky points of interest. The rustic timber pergola is also nearly complete, providing a corridor from the kitchen doors and leading you down to the garden. The natural sandstone feature circle surrounded by the reclaimed red brick will be a great place to sit and relax with a coffee or to sit with friends during the summer months.

As you may have noticed in the pictures the chickens have moved to their permanent spot on a raised platform. This will be connected to the L shaped run that is being constructed at the moment. Finally we have installed a new shed on a concrete base edged again with brick. We decided that we quite fancied the shed a lovely pastel colour. So we chose a Willow Green exterior and Country Cream interior.

We have lots of exciting finishing touches for the garden, so make sure you check back regularly to check our progress...

All the best,

James & Matt

I'm sure you've all been waiting to see what we have been getting upto... Well here it is! We have been busy building our quirky little features for the garden.

The features include a composter, log store, bird houses on reclaimed logs, the old looking stile, the gate too knowhere! Can you see any other changes!? We are hoping to be finished by Monday weather permitting and you will see the whole garden really come together.

We're busy at the front now... I'll update these pictures as soon as I can...

All the best,

James & Matt

Well as you may of guessed work has been at a stand still for the last week and a half due to the weather. There is nothing more frustrating when this happens so close to the end of a project, but you can't argue with nature.

We hope to resume work as soon as the weather improves. Please keep an eye on the project to see the finished results.

All the best

James & Matt

Date: Friday 27th February

You will be pleased to know the project was completed two weeks ago (a little behind schedule due to the weather!) and we now await the planting, which will take place during April this year...

As soon as we have some fine weather we will take some photo's and post them on the wall.

All the best

James & Matt
