09/01/2012 - Happy New Year from Team Isola

Will 2012 be the year to transform your garden space. With inspirational ideas from our creative design team & the knowledge and care of our highly skilled and friendly in house landscape team. You are in safe hands at Isola Garden Design...

Having had a much deserved break over Christmas & New Year, the Isola team are now back in full swing and looking forward to the year ahead. With many exciting new design projects and builds already scheduled for the coming months, we would encourage you to contact us to discuss your garden project no matter how small before the spring.

At the beggining of 2011 we introduced computer aided design (CAD) into the design studio, moving from hand drawn design into the modern age. This has been a great addition to the business and has allowed us to push garden design to a whole new level in creativity and accuracy.

Using CAD has allowed us to introduce the 'Design Workshop' for smaller gardens upto 150m2. This is an interactive design session within the comfort of your own home, with one of our designers and encourages you the client to become creative and involved in your own garden design with the help of an expert. For more information please contact us...

Isola Garden Design wish you all a happy and successful 2012 and look forward to hearing from you over the next few months...

04/05/2011 - Garden Magic with Plants in 2011

Now is the perfect time to plant up those borders and containers. Our creative and experienced design team & gardeners can transform your garden borders into an oasis that you never thought was possible.

Plants & inspiration for your garden space can be a tricky one for most people to get their heads around. For starters you need to work out the aspect of your garden, where is it sunny? Where is it shady? This will have a huge impact on what plant specimens will work in your borders. There are many plants out there that will work in semi shade or shade so don't despair if you're in the shade! Secondly take a look at your soil type and also the general ground conditions, this can have a huge impact on the plants success rate. If your ground conditions are poor and full of clay then a good organic soil conditioner should do the trick.

Now you have found out more about the conditions in your garden it's time to start thinking about what plants to use. What will work within your space? And not only that but what will give you the desired look you are after? First of all look at shrubs and trees that are going to give your borders structure, height and architectural interest not only in the summer but in the winter also. Then start to fill the gaps with plants that are going to create ground cover and colour to your garden throughout the season. Make sure you read the labels to see how tall and wide these plants will grow over a period of years... You don't want to end up in a tangled mess! Space everything out correctly before you plant so you can try to imagine how the structure will come together. Its just like painting a picture at the end of the day. Water the plants well before transplanting and add some organic soil conditioner to give your plants the best possible start in life... Finish off the borders with a good 50mm depth of bark mulch. It's not only decorative but will help suppress the weeds, keep moisture in the ground and improve the soil conditions over a period of years. Top up every two years.

If DIY isn't your cup of tea then contact Isola Garden Design and let us create an inspirational planting scheme for you whether it be contemporary, traditional or cottage garden planting.

Plants can be an investment for life. For more information please contact our main office on 01926 883440

19/06/10 - Isola Garden Design & Forest team up for RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show 2010

Isola Garden Design has teamed up with the UK's leading manufacturer of decrotive garden timber products, Forest, to create a stunning centrepiece at the forth coming Hampton Court: Inspiring Spaces showcase.

The inspiring showcase - which is sponsored by Forest - provides ideas on how to brighten up small and difficult areas such as patios, front gardens or balconies. Featuring ideas from a wide range of designers, the centre piece, aptly named The Glasshouse Garden, has been designed by Isola Garden Design and will feature products from Forest's extensive product ranges.

Taking centre stage at the Inspiring Spaces showcase, The Glass House Garden will provide an elegant and engaging environment. Raised timber planters and beds will lie side by side with novelty planting ideas including Wellington boots and watering cans. Planting will come in the shape of herbaceous cottage garden plants, vegetables, herbs and bursts of colourful flowers. Structural timber will also feature heavily with arches, arbours and fencing blending perfectly into the garden, whilst the Forest Glasshouse Pavilion takes pride of place in the heart of the garden.

James Brash, co-founder of Isola Garden Design, said; "Being able to get involved in Hampton Court Flower Show is a fantastic opportunityand a great way for us to showcase our design and planting skills. We're also extremely pleased to be working so closely with Forest.

As such an established brand, Forest has extensive knowledge on how best to dress a garden, as well as an expert eye for those timber products that will add an extra element and design focus to a garden. We're really looking forward to collaborating with them on the garden and being able to take away with us some of their know-how to use in our future projects."

04/08/09 - Record Breaking 2009

Despite the effects of the economic down turn that has faced us all in one way or another over the past 18 months, the garden design and landscape sector has remained stable.

Isola Garden Design has been fortunate to see a growth in enquiries since the down turn both in private and commercial commissions. This has been partially due to the steady stream of customers referring us to both friends and family. We have also been fortunate enough to secure two high profile commercial contracts. The first is the Pavestone UK Show Garden, which can be seen at BPS Gardenforce, Leamington Spa. We were also delighted to secure a contract for the new retaining walls and raised terrace which we completed at Kings High School, Warwick.

01/11/08 - Young Landscapers Gain Industry Recognition

Isola Garden Design, a midlands-based landscaping business set up in 2006 by two young newly-qualified landscapers, has been awarded full membership of the British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI) - the landscape industry's premier professional trade body.

British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI)

The two young entrepreneurs share a youthful passion for designing and building innovative and unique outdoor living spaces and, having successfully traded as probationary BALI members for two years, have now satisfied the Association's strict entry criteria for Full Contractor Membership.

The British Association of Landscape Industries was established in 1972 to drive up standards in the landscape industry. Achieving Full Contractor Membership is notoriously difficult and requires extremely high standards of workmanship and customer service. Once achieved, BALI members must submit to a regular Quality Standards Review, ensuring that they continue to warrant displaying the coveted BALI logo. There are only just over 500 landscaping businesses across the country who currently hold this accolade.

James believes this achievement will give the business a sound professional platform on which to build:

"Matt and I love what we do and I think that comes through in our designs and the quality of our work. But, as a new business, and being young too, it was vital to establish our credibility with potential customers. Now that we can officially display the BALI logo our clients have a guarantee that we will deliver a quality assured service from start to finish."
